Is SUMMER really almost over?

I have to say that I know I am getting old! They say time seems to speed up with age, and I believe it. Where has the summer gone? We have had a great summer. All three kids had a lot of fun playing baseball/softball. We made it to Lagoon a few times, we played outside a ton, and went to the pool many times... The weather this summer has been BEAUTIFUL!!

Today we headed up to Snow basin. We rode the gondola up, went hiking and just enjoyed the day. It was so much fun. We totally live in a wonderful world!! The kids thought it was so cool to be playing in a little snow in August! It was just a small patch, but still snow there. CRAZY

We went to Minersville this weekend because my WONDERFUL Dad said he would help Skyler get his pinewood derby car ready... Skyler LOVED it. I am so lucky to have such wonderful parents!! Thanks DAD!

And on another good note, our house is being built. lol Hole is dug and footings are poured. There probably has been more action, this was from last week... YEAH!

We have decided that we are going to build a new one!! Crazy, yes, but way exciting. The pictures below are of the spec home that is the model ours will be, so mostly it will look the same. We just signed the promise to build today and pending no complications, we could be in our new home this summer!!! YEAH! The spec home is decorated to the hilt, but still we can dream right? lol
The main floor has the kitchen/dining room and the living room.

Upstairs has the master bedroom and bathroom, two other bedrooms with a bathroom and the laundry room.

And the basement will have a family room, bathroom, office and cold storage.

We will also have a two car garage and (hoping for) a covered deck.

Skyler's 9th Birthday

We had a little boy who couldn't sleep in anticipation for the day, yet he still managed to stay awake for it all.

Thank to one of the Judges in our district we where able to give Skyler tickets to the Jazz game on his birthday for Christmas. We sat in section 11, row 9, seats 1 & 2! It is so cool! The game was super entertaining too! We had heard that if you get there right as the doors open, you are allowed to go right down to the floor seats and sometimes the players will sign a few autographs. Well, Skyler was all for that. We got there at 5:15 and waited for the doors to open at 5:30. Skyler was able to get the signatures of Coach Sloan, Big Al, Hayward, and one other player (sorry, I don't know all the newbies). He was a little sad that D'Will wasn't out but recovered quickly.

Skyler's only complaint for the day was that he didn't get one of the "freebies" that they throw out. I tried to explain the sheer number of people and I think by the end he got it. We had a great night.

And today after a long day at Snowbird skiing, Skyler came home and we had a nice family dinner with cake and ice cream!

I still can't believe how fast time is flying with Skyler, but it is. I am having to get used to it fast! We just keep praying that he is headed in the right direction and will fulfill all that Heavenly Father has in store for him! Another thing that he is so excited about, he is so happy to be in the Bear Den in cub scouts!! I am just thankful for the program. It really keeps these young boys happy!

The present opening began early for us, Abby and Brenden where spending Christmas at their mom's.

Skyler and Brenden both got Jazz jerseys with tickets to a game... we now have to drag it off them to wash it. As you'll see, Skyler is always wearing it!

I love making the homemade pizza and having all the noise and laughter. I love listening to a wise, wonderful man giving instruction to the next generation and wondering if they are even hearing him. And I love the spirit that is present in their home.

Friday night we went down to Salt Lake to enjoy the light displays as temple square. It was beautiful! 9 kids and 3 three adults and we all survived, unharmed even. lol, My camera on the other hand, did have a little mishap. It got smashed. It's all good though, we where able to save the picture that where on it and we peacefully retired it for the camera Eric has been ready to purchase for two years. Merry Christmas everyone! My the birth of the Savior bring you as much joy as it has me this year.

We made Ginger bread houses this afternoon. This year I decided to just go with the costco "pre-built" packages. It was still a lot of fun and seriously less expensive. lol Maybe we will try it again next year. The kids where still totally creative, since I took the boxes out the dumpster before we began.

Brenden thinks he is too old to pose with his house, so no finished project for him.

Skyler also had his end of year Christmas Choir concert. He was so excited to be in the choir at school this year. It requires the kids to be at the school at 7:30 AM two days a week from like Sept through now. He didn't miss a day.

Skyler's second week of Skiing lessons went well. He was a lot more "beat-up" so to speak. They went over to a bigger run and Skyle is relentless! He wants perfection. I seriously think that he only took a 15 minute break for lunch and other than that it was non-stop up the hill and down. He is still way excited about it though, so we signed him up for another three weeks in January. I am getting brave, next week he is going to the mountain without me... most likely. ;)

Skyler's first Ski Lesson

Skyler took to skiing like a fish to water. He loved it!! He wanted to signed up for it this year so I made him choose between basketball and skiing. So he choose this... he is now hooked! Now all he can talk about is how that is what he wants for his birthday and Christmas this year. lol, Sheesh nothing like changing your mind at the last minute! Next week he is going without Mom though. lol And then here is my Sexy-Skilled hubby who totally rocks the whole mountain!! He is amazing! Even if he claims to be out of shape. And yes, I really need to learn a little more about taking action shots. Mine are always fuzzy, I don't do Eric justice.

On this clip Skyler is the one in the green that is slowing making his way down the mountain; I started recording when he was about right below the lift on the screen. It is kind of hard to see. At the end of this run a snow boarder almost takes him out. By his last few runs of the day, he was feeling so confident that he went off the jumps on the "Explorer" hill twice... never landed it, but attempted. lol

for all my family and the wonderful relationships that we have with each other. I am grateful for this time of year. We seem to get together much more with those we love. We had a fast/fun trip to Minersville for Thanksgiving. It seems like things change in many ways and yet still remain the same all in the same moment. Thanks Mom for all the hard work that you put in for us! You are wonderful! All the projects/crafts where entertaining and fun!

SNOW Storm! I am way excited. I love looking out the window in the morning and seeing all the world in WHITE! It had all melted by 2:00 this afternoon, but it was still beautiful while it lasted. I hope we get much, much more, just not until after we are safe and sound in Minersville on Wednesday. Happy Thanksgiving this week to everyone!

Halloween 2010

We did our pumpkin carving and cookie/cupcake decorating the weekend before Halloween. They kids always enjoy that.

Well we are finally finished with baseball for 2010. We ended over Halloween weekend with a tournament in Mesquite. Brenden played well but his team lost all four games. Here a a couple of pictures.

Saturday we ventured out to Lagoon with Robyn and Allison and family. They really do have it decorated quite cute! The kids loved riding the rides all day and I loved catching up with the women.

The funniest/saddest part of the day happened after 3:00 when the spook alleys opened. Skyler and about 6 of the rest of the kids wanted to do at least one. Well the "Junkyard" was not open and it was rated the least scary, so the kids thought that going to the "Fun House of Fear" would be fine. We stood in line and entered the fun house. They passed out 3D glasses and in we went. Not one room after we started Skyler and one of the girls where glued to me. I could hardly walk. But that didn't matter because anytime anything spooked them they would freeze and it would take physically pushing them to get them to move on. They hated it!!! Skyler was in actual tears by the time we got through it, as where some of the girls. It was totally a great lesson on just because everyone else thinks something is the thing to do, doesn't mean that you should do it. It was sad to see the kids so afraid, but at least we got something out of it. And for me, for once I wasn't scared. I hate those places, but this time the mother instinct must have kept for from paying much attention.

and in reverse order. These are just a few of the things keeping us busy now. I have felt completely out of control of my life lately. It is just starting to settled down. At work, life is totally nuts!! We had two Judges retire in August and sadly one more Judge passed away unexpectedly on the 31st of August. So everything has been up in the air. We don't know who or where or when to set anything. All the cases are jumbled and tempers are flairing! It is crazy. At home things are on mend. We are all still adjusting to me working full-time. (Well I am still adjusting)

Brenden is playing on a fall baseball team. It has been a great experience and he is getting to play many new positions. Here he is pitching.

Skyler earned his Wolf badge and 1 gold and 3 silver arrow points for Cub scouts.

Look at this poor ugly duck... it is so interesting. I just had to include it. Thanks Cheri and Eston for the evening at the duck pond park. We had tons of fun.

Brenden turned the BIG 13 on September 4th. He is very quickly growing up. This is his first year of Junior High, already he is hitting it off with the girls...

And I had to throw in a picture of Miss Abby. She has such a dominate personality, we are a little nervous for her to get older. j/k

Park City Get-away

Since I successfully finished my first week back to full-time work, Eric gave me a short mini-vacation for the weekend. We took the kids up to the Olympic Park in Park City and spend the weekend.

The Art Fair was still going on and it was truly amazing!! This picture is of my favorite exhibit though. I love the giraffes!!!! But I seriously about died at the prices. Just for an example, see the little elephant in the right of this picture, it's price tag was $9,500! It was the smallest thing there by a huge margin. WOW, the where totally amazing though.

We all rode the Alpine slide, but some how I never got a picture of Skyler. They first time we where riding together, the second he had to go on his own... Abby on the other hand, wouldn't think about it without her Dad.

Everyone did the zip lines as well. Eric and Brenden did the Extreme and Skyler and Abby where only heavy enough to do the Ultra. They all loved it!!

And once again this was at the Art Fair...a giant colorful rooster... it was so cool! Thank you so much my love. It was a nice change of pace.

Annual Wyatt Reunion

Eric's mom loves to get together every summer and do something fun. The last two year we have went to the Church Ranch in Burley and had a ball. This year she decided we would go to Lava Flow.

For me the "Lava Flow" experience was a little over rated. The pool was way to crowded and the waits for all the slides were way, way to long. Our family also did the river tubing, which I loved, but we ended up with two injured kids from it.

The camping out and being with family was wonderful!! It made the whole trip worth it. The first night there Eric's mom planned for all of us to make pizza pockets. It was so cool. She had these little fire cooker things. This was how you made them: you put butter on the outside of two slices of bread and then pizza sauce and your toppings of choice in the middle of the bread. Then you closed the little contraption and placed it right in the fire. You just had to turn it once and magically you had a nice toasty pizza pocket. They we to good!! The kids all had tons of fun playing with their cousins! I let them take the camera and most of these picture where theirs. Thanks, they are awesome. And thanks to much to Iva, Eric's mom, for the wonderful new adventures every year!

Baseball is over!!!

Well at least the spring/summer season! Skyler and Brenden both took second at the District Tournament and then played well in State. Brenden's team took third at State and Skyler's team got beat out by the team who took the state championship, so all was well.

Abby also celebrated her 9th birthday last week!! She is turning into such a wonderful young woman!

Grandma Wyatt gave Abby dress-ups, so that is what she modeled for us before and during the cake... She loved it.

So I am a slacker and missed posting all of June, so this is the catch up.

The first week of June we spent a wonderful few days with Trina and her family. We went to Boonedocks and Lagoon and Cherry Hill. Skyler was loving life!!!

Then it was baseball... Skyler, Abby and Brenden all had two games a week, just like in May.

Brenden's league team won their League Tournament!!

Skyler made the Kaysville All-Star team!! He was so excited. They are the C team, so the boys picked their team name to be Kaysville Thunder!! This is a whole new experience for Skyler and he is loving it. Here Skyler is playing in the Bountiful tournament. Their team went 2-2.

Brenden made the Farmington All-Star Team as well! Here they are winning the Farmington Invitational Tournament! They are really doing well and Eric is so excited to be one of the assistant coaches.

And finally here we are back to July at the celebrations yesterday in Kaysville.

Abbby was climbing a tree before the parade and some how I failed to get a picture of Brenden yesterday.

These are our wonderful friends who helped me with our first Kaysville 4th experience. We love you guys!! We wish you still lived next door!!! lol We missed being in Minersville (it is sometimes nice to only have a small crowd, LOL).

I feel so blessed to live in a free country! I am so grateful to all the men and woman who have given their lives to make it so. I am so blessed to know that the hand of a loving Heavenly Father helped to guide it all. We love our little family so much and seriously I'm starting to feel so old... I have to really choke it up to say that I have a 12 year old, but I wouldn't change it... now the older attitudes, I would love to change!! Thank you all so much for filling our lives with so much happiness!

Just an update

Life is crazy and we are loving it!! If we are not at the field, it's time for yard work or scouts or some other calling... so here are a few picture of what been happening.

Skyler wanted a season pass to Lagoon for his birthday clear back in January, so he has been waiting a really long, long time to use it. We finally got to go last weekend. The kid is fearless!!! He wants to do every ride by himself. His favorite for the day (since most of the rides where crowded) was Cliff hanger. He loved getting wet and dipping upside down.

Skyler is loving baseball. He only plays catcher for one inning per game this year but he doesn't mind. He is hitting the ball really well and likes playing first base.

Abby loves playing softball this year! We are a little surprised that she enjoys it... she doesn't like people telling her what to do...but she is totally enjoying it. She gets a hit every time at bat and is throwing right on target. She can out run Skyler any day, just don't ask him because he will totally get upset.

Brenden is doing really well in both of his leagues. He has really improved with the training sessions he had this winter. He is still madly in love with all baseball.

And finally Skyler is loving Cub Scouts. They have so many fun programs and activities. This one is from our "In the Spotlight" night. The boys all came in on the red carpet because they where the stars of the night. We then watched the movie clips of their skits. The boys ALL loved it.

is here again. This year all three of the kids will be playing baseball/softball. Brenden is on a comp-team as well as playing in regular league ball(2 weeknight games and 2 games on Saturday), Skyler has 2 games a week and Abby has 2 games a week. So if you can't find us, just look to the park... we will be living there or so it may seem. lol, Good thing we all love sports!!

This weekend was the kick-off for Brenden's league and his first comp-team games. We where at the field from 9 AM until 4 PM that day. He did really well even if he was very nervous at the DC Lightening games (comp-team name). The rec league (the A's) game was last and Brenden was totally relaxed by then and ended up hitting a HOME RUN!!! It was a great game. Fortunately this weekend his teams ended up with all three wins!! Way to go Brenden!!

During the last game in Farmington, Skyler and Abby where able to attend the bike safety fair right next door. That is where they got these lovely paint jobs. Skyler is on the Diamondbacks team this year and as you can tell he is obsessed!!

Spring time... where did you go?

I seriously can't believe this weather. Sheesh, just when I am ready to break out the short it snows a ton!! I'm not complaining, we really need the water, I just am ready for spring. Skyler was highly impressed when we walked out to go to school and all the trees where lined with snow. It wasn't on the ground to much as just a light frosting on everything.
We celebrated Easter a little early with all the kids. We colored eggs and had an Easter lesson a week before. It was fun to see the kids still excited to color eggs. It is also a lot of fun to see how into participating they are in Family Home Evening. They all have their own scriptures and every one wants to use them... lol. When it comes to just reading them we get a few complaints, but FHE is fun! Skyler and Abby attended a Primary Activity that morning where they filled up a egg carton with plastic eggs and in each egg it told the story of Jesus' Resurrection. It was a really fun activity and allowed everyone to participate in the reading later at home. The other pictures are of Skyler and his 5th grade buddy at his school Easter Egg hunt. They are paired up with a "Buddy" at the beginning of the year and throughout the year their buddies help them out with things. The fifth grade classes filled and prepared and hid the eggs for the 2nd graders to find.
So on the actual Easter Sunday, we where all alone... it really made me think about the talks given in conference and totally confirmed to me that I really am not ready to be an "empty nester" just yet. I totally love having all the fun activities and the joy that our children bring to us. We are so blessed to have the promise of eternal families!!

Skyler's First Jazz Game

Eric took Skyler to his first ever Jazz game last night. He loved it!! Eric even played along and let Skyler get his picture taken with the Jazz Bear and get all the freebies...lol, Skyler was so excited when he got home. The first thing he did was post his signed picture with the Jazz Bear on his board. And his poster went right to the wall. It's so much fun to have a happy and excited kid. Getting him to bed last night was another story though.

Skyler also had his Animal Fair at school on Friday. He did his project on (imagine this) a Beaver. lol Everyone else at the school picked dolphins, elk, sharks, big animals, but Skyler he picked the beaver all on his own. So here is his clay figure in he habitat he created. He was seriously the only kid in the school that did a beaver project. He loved it.

Today I took Skyler and Abby to the "Build and Grow" class at Lowe's. It's totally free!! On their first time they get an apron, goggles, and a project (they are supposed to keep bring the apron and goggles, they get a project every time). This week they made Table Top Basketball hoops. The kids lived it. It took us less than a half hour and they have been playing with them all day! I just thought I would share because I would love to hear about anymore free programs that are being run in the area... if you know of any let me in on it...lol.

At the completion of the project they also got a badge to sew onto their aprons! They loved that too. It is my understanding that they do the classes every other week. You do have to sign up on-line before the class, but just go to the Lowe's website and search for "Build and Grow". This also lists any Lowe's stores that participates. I think it is a nationwide thing!

A long road, still a struggle

Today my mind seem to be bogged down with so many thoughts of the past. It has been almost a year now since I received my full membership back and I am so blessed in millions of ways and yet I still feel like I am lost at times. I want to be so perfect, to live so that I will be able to live in the presence of my Heavenly Parents one day. It is a constant struggle and discouraging at times. There seems to always be something that I missed doing or something that I didn't know that I should have been doing. I know that learning is the purpose of this life. I know that trials make us stronger in the end and that we are blessed despite the struggles. I just need to get better at doing the little things... reading my scriptures, praying night and day, and seeking the spirit. I know they make all the difference! Having my mind refocused on the Lord each and everyday helps me to make the right choices and keeps the memories of the past at bay. So I am making it official here that I will be more diligent in daily scripture study for myself as well as with my family and that I will seek the opportunity each morning to ask for the spirit to guide me. While I was driving to Nephi to pick up Skyler today I heard part of a conference talk where the lady speaking was talking about safety gear and how the Lord has already given us all that we need to keep us safe, we just have to choose to use it. That is me and I am committed to using it all!!

Two years and counting on FOREVER!!!

Well in about 30 minutes Eric and I will officially have been married for two years!! Woohoo!! lol I am totally still on the adrenaline high from all the memories we where able to make this weekend celebrating! So I want to get it all down before I miss something.

The weekend started out with a wonderful dinner with our friends/relatives Robin and Jeremy at Tucanos Brazilian Grill. This is a new experience in and of its self if you have never tried a Brazilian Grill. Eric and I ate at one for the first time while in Vegas and loved it!! Anyway, this was Robin and Jeremy's first time at one and our first at this grill. It was so good. They have a huge salad bar with everything you can think of and some more that you wouldn't... two of my favs: the fried bananas and shrimp (not particularly together). Then after you have a plate full of your favorites they start bringing around the grilled meats and veggies. They bring them out on a long skewer and crave off what you want. They have so really yummy things. The grilled pineapple is totally my favorite of the entire meal!!

So after this scrumptious and filling dinner we head over to the Elton John/Billy Joel concert (I gave the tickets to Eric for his birthday in January). I thought that I would totally be lost and not really know any of the songs but it was really fun! Elton John was a little long and kind of boring, but Billy Joel was amazing!! He was totally funny and I knew almost everyone of his songs. It was really cool them the two of them played together too! As some of you know I am not the greatest music buff (actually I don't know anything) but most of the songs I could sing along too!! Eric made the rest of the weekend happen, thanks you Marketstar/HP. LOL, we stayed the night at the Hilton in Salt Lake. It was nice to just be there and not have to take the 30 minute drive back home.

The next morning (okay around noon) we headed up to Park City. We spent the better part of the afternoon at the outlet stores. I am so lucky to be married to a man who doesn't mind shopping and not buying anything. We found some really great things in the Kitchen store!! We had lunch at the Loco Lizard and it was to good!! This is totally not a place that I would have thought to eat at, but I am way impressed. It will be a repeater for us! We headed up to the Olympic Park next. I had tried earlier in the week to get Eric and pass to do the skeleton run, but they where already full so we settled for just the museum. For me it was was interesting. I don't think that I really paid that much attention when the Olympics where here in Salt Lake, although I can remember bits and pieces, the museum brought it all back... what a cool time! Yes, we have Olympic fever right now and watch it every day. This visit just added to it.

After that we check into the Dakota Mountain Lodge Resort!!! Let me just say WOW!!! And the best part, it was free!! Eric had earned some vouchers from traveling for work and we where able to use them here!!

The suite that we where in was bigger than our house, seriously!! It had a fully decked out kitchen, with everything!! Fridge, freezer, dishes; anything that you needed to cook with. I don't know how anyone can afford to stay there for a long time, but it was totally set up for that. We had two fire places, one in the living room and one in the bedroom with big screen TVs above both of them. The bed was one the best/softest beds Eric and I have ever slept on...lol. There was a front load washer and dryer with laundry soap, a balcony over looking the valley, and a way good restaurant in the resort (a little pricey, but good). They had plush his and her robes in closet along with cozy slippers... and then the bathrooms!!! WOW!! I had to try it all out! We had a master bath with a full size jetted tub! I could actually lay flat in it!! That is hard to find. There was also a flat screen in the master bath!! I loved all the stone tiling and the lighting. They had under lighting in the bathroom and the kitchen as well as dimmers and anything else you could think of... it was heavenly. They also had two Jacuzzis and a heated swimming pool outside. I loved it! Sitting the hot steamy Jacuzzi with the snowing falling down around you, a dream come true!! Needless to say we spent the rest the day and morning in our suite or at the resort!!

I love you so much Eric and I am so very blessed to have you in my life... and not just because you spoil me beyond my wildest dreams. You are a wonderful man!!

Valentines Weekend

With Valentines being today, we extended it to include the entire weekend. It started with a totally fun birthday part for Ashton (Skyler's counsin) at Jump n' Jacks. I even got brave and took Caleb down the slide twice...LOL. Thanks Serena for all the fun.

That same day I came home to this beautiful arrangement of flowers!! Eric is so wonderful to me. He knows that I am not a "just roses" person so he always find the prettiest arrangements!! Thank you my love.

Then Saturday Skyler and I went to see "The Lightening Theif". Skyler really liked it, but for me it was just way to different from the book. It really was pretty cool if you just forget that you have read a much better book... LOL. When we got home we made tons of cookies and took them around to friends. I think this is a tradition that dates way back to when I was a kid growing up in Minersville. Does anyone else rememeber going "kicking Valentines"? LOL, I remember that when we moved to Duchesne we tried it the first year and people thought we where crazy...LOL. So needless to say we don't "doorbell ditch" them today, we just said Happy Valentines. Hope your Valentines Weekend was just as wonderful!

A Great Honor for a Great Man

Eric's dad, Grant Wyatt, was named one of five recipients for the Idaho Governor's Awards for Excellence in Agriculture for 2009. Grant's award was in the category of Marketing Innovation. Grant is such a forward thinker and is always thinking about what he can do to improve the ground and water situations of Idaho for the future. This is totally a well deserved award!! Grant is so humble, he wanted to give it to everyone else... he is such a wonderful example to all of us. I am so blessed to be apart of his family and to be one of his daughters. I am so amazed that even at near 83 he is still completely involved in all his operations. He still claims to be a humble farmer, but he is so much for to each of us!! Congratulations Grant!

We drove up to Boise on Tuesday to attend the award ceremony with all the family. It was so neat. They had a video presentation on all the winners. It was so good!! We are so blessed to have this now to show all the family. It is such a good tribute.

Skyler's Baptism

This was such a wonderful day for our family! I am so blessed to have a wonderful child who loves Heavenly Father and Jesus and wants to be a part of their church. Skyler's big day went really well. I was supposed to give the talk on Baptism and had it all prepared and then left it home in Kaysville... so I really hope that what I said is something that Skyler will always remember and take to heart. I am so proud of him and so grateful that I get to be his mom!! He is such a happy kid and always bringing all of us together. I am so grateful for the gospel and for the Plan of Happiness that allow us to be families forever.

Cub Scouts... (oh great)

I am really so grateful for all the fun things that boys learn in the scouting program and for all the wonderful people that are so enthused about it but pack meetings are sooooo crazy!!

Skyler is now in the Wolf Den and loving life!! He has scouts every Wednesday after school and pack meeting once a month. He has been to one of each and LOVES it!! We really do have great leaders and amazing kids. At pack meeting Skyler received his welcome to the den and he also earned his Bobcat. They have a very fun-filled pack meeting with loads of things to keep the kids entertained... only the parents have to do everything too, and if you don't participate they make you come to the front of everyone and lead... lol. So needless to say we did many cheers and relay races. I painted Skyler's face and then he got to paint mine! It is way fun for Skyler and I am glad that he has something to look forward too. Eric said he thinks he has to work on the Fourth Thursday of every month, it's a new rule... lol.

Skyler's birthday ended up being really fun for all of us. We did cake and ice cream and his presents on Wednesday night while the whole family was here. Then we had lunch together at school. I'm just glad that he still likes me to come for this, I know that day is soon approaching when he won't. After school we headed off to Build-A-Bear at Fashion Place Mall. This was a first for both of us and Skyler loved it!! He now has the dog of his dreams...I'm just glad that it is stuffed!! LOL We ended the night with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was wonderful!! This was a first for all three of us, even though we have heard how good it is we have never ate there. The shrimp scampi was divine and so was the Red Velvet Cheesecake!! They where super nice too. Skyler ordered the pepperoni pizza and when it came he hated it after one bite. So they took it back no questions and had his choose something else. It was way sweet!!

What an amazing little man you are!! Skyler told me today that he is no longer a kid he is now a young man. LOL, I cracked up laughing and still think it is so funny. When did you get so mature? He is the delight of my days!!

As we approach the final few days before Skyler's "BIG" birthday, I find myself thinking more and more about being a good mom. Does anyone else feel this way? Now that he is turning eight and going to be held accountable for his own actions, I can't help but wonder if I have taught him all that he needs to know to make the right choices. I know that he will still be learning and growing but have I given him the skills to make the tough choices that he will face? Have I taught him how to repent and ask for Heavenly Fathers help? Will he choose to follow the plan of happiness? Working in the Juvenile court I see so many young kids who haven't made the right choices and seem to be so lost. It is such a sad thing!

I know that I am so blessed to have the holy ghost as a guide and to know what is right from wrong. Skyler is a very strong headed boy and sometimes he chooses to go against me just because it is me asking. I can totally see more conflicts in the future. Skyler also has a leader spirit and I know that if he chooses to, he will be a strong and steady example... A Primary song completely expresses all the things that I wonder.

I will just have to put my trust in the Lord and be confident that He knows what is best for Skyler. It is such a reassurance to know that He knows everything that will happen and our lives can be guided by him if we follow the commandments.

And the funniest part (which I missed while I was in the other room) was that he got his first kiss. LOL It was really just on the cheek, but Sakoya (who is the girl of Skyler's dreams) said she would take a picture of Skyler and her for her new phone. This is how Eric spend most of the game playing. He had been Skiing all day so he was just worn out. Robin hooked him up with the massaging chair and he was out. Of course he would wake up just in time to see me playing a jockey in gestures...lol.

I can't believe that another year has past...time is certainly flying by now that I am older. They always said it would but who would believe it when your young and everything seems to be out of your reach. We have been so blessed throughout this last year even if the time has flown. I am so grateful to have an eternal companion and to have the priesthood in our home. I am so grateful for the three happy kids who always find ways to make us laugh. We are definitely blessed with wonderful friends and neighbors who are always looking out for us. Hopefully we have returned their love as well. As I look forward to this new year, it will be full of many more "firsts" and hopefully much joy. Finding Joy in the Journey is definitely something that I would like to strive for this year.

Christmas times three

Since we have this "unique" family we seem to have many days of Christmas. We all love it though. It just keep going and going. Saturday the 19th we let all three of our kids open their gifts from us. Abby and Brenden got new bikes and Eric and I couldn't figure out a way to get them to Idaho without them knowing about them anyway. Skyler was also leaving for the week. It was fun and every one loved the new bikes!! Skyler also finished out Basketball for this season.

Then it was off to Minersville for a few days of visiting and Skyler went to St. George. Wednesday, Eric, Brenden, Abby and I headed to Eric's parents to spend Christmas with them. I love the Christmas Eve party of homemade pizza and tons of family! It is a blast! I love spending time all the extended family.

And our last Christmas is with Skyler when he came home Monday from St. George. he was totally stoked to see that Santa brought an I-pod after all. I'm so glad to have him home!!

This last picture is one of my favs, Skyler just discovered that Santa put Taylor Swift music in his Nano. He was so excited!!

Saturday Skyler and I went to see Santa and have his picture taken. I have not missed a year. At work, we where having a "decorate your space" contest and thought to take the scrapbook pages from Skyler's books of Christmas. I love looking at the changes that he has made every year!! So here is this years... I was worried that he was getting to old for this, but he still loves it!!

After we got home we made Graham Cracker houses. All three of our kids loved this!! Brenden and Abby said this is their first time ever doing these and they had a very wonderful time!

A Thankful Heart

I am so grateful for all the blessing in our lives this year. I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and three really great kids. The kids keep us guessing but we wouldn't trade them for anything. We spent the weekend with my family in Minersville. It is always great to go home and let Skyler have fun with his cousins. I think that is one of the things that he misses most! We had Thanksgiving with Grandpa Hayward and Ruth and her family. It was such a wonderful meal.

When we got home, Skyler wanted to decorate the house first thing. So we put up all the decorations!! I love Christmas! I love the spirit of giving that it brings with it!

New Moon Movie...

LOL Eric and I went to a midnight showing of New Moon this morning... sigh (I'm thinking that was a little extreme for me, but it was fun). I was totally expecting to be disappointed, yet surprise, surprise I loved it. I want to go read the book all over again. If you are a Twilight Saga fan, this really is a good movie!! Next time I think we will wait a while and just see if after the major crowds have died, but it was fun once. hehehe

Halloween Weekend

We spent Halloween this year in St. George. Brenden played in his final baseball tournament for this year. It was so WARM!! The team lost all four games, but they did gain experience. It is always good to see how much more that we can really improve!

Skyler was a vampire for Halloween. We took him to the St. George Rec Center for their Halloween carnival. It was a lot of fun to see a few of the people that I used to work with. Skyler had a wonderful time too! Then he went with his dad trick or treating and we came home yesterday. It was a fun weekend but I am amazed at how much traveling can wear you out.

Skyler participated in UDOT's SNAP "Walk More in Four" program and out of 1200 kids that participated this lucky boy won a Scooter and Helmet. He was to excited!!! He is loving life...

The funny part is that he was a little freaked out when his teacher told him to go to the Principals office... he thought be was in big trouble. Now he thinks the principal is pretty cool and for some reason he thought that the principal was the same man who is our bishop. LOL He was really impressed with that. LOL He was so releaved when he found out differently. I got am email from the principal telling me how excited Skyler got when he found out he won. I think it was just a big contrast to how he came into the office since he thought that he was in trouble. ;)

Fall Fire-Fighter

Last week Skyler and I went with some friends to the Layton Fire Safety event. Skyler had a really good time. We rode in a fire truck around the block, put out a fire with the real hoses and got to review all the fun fire safety rules. We also got Skyler's ID card with his finger prints and all. We watched the Life Flight come in and land and then we where able to explore it. I will be very happy if that is the only time that I ever have to see it!!

Skyler and Abby's First Concert!!

Yes, I know what you are thinking... WHY? LOL, this is what happens when you get free tickets, you do things that you never thought you would. I took Skyler and Abby last night to the Miley Cyrus Concert at Energy Solution Arena. They had a ball!! We started the night with dinner at Applebees and then straight over to the concert to try and get some souvenirs... The lines where so long and everything was so, so expensive (a white T-shirt with her graphic was $35.00, for a colored one it was $40 to $45, Sweatshirt where $65), well after waiting in line forever, we ended up with two cool light sticks and they where happy. Metro Station opened for Miley and the kids didn't really get into them much. So finally after waiting an hour in our nose bleed section, out she came. For me the concert was way to many lights and way loud noise (it wasn't even music to me, LOL), you could barely even hear her singing... but the kids loved it!! A funny thing that happened, after just starting the second song, Miley ran off stage and the band and the back up girls finished it. Then we waited. Finally a manager or someone came on stage and told us that Miley was fighting the flu and she needed just a minute to regroup. How gross would have that been if she would have thrown up on stage... She did come back out and sing again so all was well. We ended up ducking out early from the concert at 9:30 but it was still a really fun time. Thanks Talea for the tickets!

September...what it's over?

This month has been the busiest yet! I can't believe that this week is the start of October. WOW!! We have had a full month. Brenden has been playing in a competitive baseball league and we have had games every Saturday. We end that season with a tournament in St. George over Halloween. Brenden's team is growing together... they aren't the best, but they are learning. This last Saturday in Logan,Brenden hit an over the fence home run!!! This is the only picture I got of it, but still it was cool!! He was so pumped!!

Here are our other two hoolagians... we are very lucky that they play so well together!!

The weekend before we headed down to Nephi and went to Talea's birthday party. It was carnival themed and the kids had a ball. I just think that my little niece is the cutest... even if she has her own attitude most of the time.

Brenden's Birthday

Brenden turned 12 on the 4th of September (Yes, I have been slacking). I can't believe that he is that old...lol. He is totally in the "annoying" teenager stage through. It was really neat for him to receive the priesthood that Sunday after he turned twelve.

The picture from church is before Eric gave the blessing so once again he is a little stressed and nervous. It was a great weekend though.

It was also my parents 30th Anniversary on September 8th. I am not allowed to post picture of my mom though, so sorry no pictures of the party... But I am so glad to have such wonderful examples in my life and for all the love and support they have given to us!!

2nd Grade is way to big...

Skyler is growing up way to fast. As I went to take him into the school on Monday morning it was raining, so I decided to drive him even though we only live 1 1/2 blocks away from the school. We parked across the street from the school because there where to many cars there and as we went to cross the street, I reached down to take Skyler's hand. He wouldn't let me have it. He said, "If you just walk next to me, maybe they will just think you are a teacher". Oooh, I about started crying... he is now to big to hold his mom's hand or to hug me in front of his friends. I knew the day was coming, I just wasn't prepared for it so soon. I did manage to pull it together and just laugh it off, but it was still really an eye opener to how much Skyler has grown. He wouldn't even let me take a good picture of him before I left his class. This is the one that I got.

It's a good thing that I was already on my way to the temple and had something else to occupy my morning (On a side note:see below). His childhood is slipping by so quickly!! He totally refused to wear anything that I suggested. He picked out every thing that day!! He loves school and is loving his new teacher so all is good on that front. He was also a little worried about making new friends since there are only a couple who where in his class last year, but he has been coming home happy and says he is enjoying the days.

Side note: I was able to attend a session at the Salt Lake Temple on Monday and I was just amazed!! I have never been through that specific temple or through a live session for that matter and I loved it. The temple is so beautiful!! It is totally different then every other temple that I have been too. If you get the chance to do a session there, I would so take it. I was truly amazed!! It was wonderful! I totally want to find out more and more about why it is the way it is...

Abby was baptized Saturday!!! She was so cute. She sat on her dad's lap the whole time before getting baptized and he loved it. Eric was extremely nervous... Abby had to be dunked twice. The first time her hair and her foot popped up. LOL Eric also was able to confirm her and he was scared to death to do that. It was the first blessing that he has given since his mission over 20 years ago, but he did wonderful!! It was such a special day for me. I loved the fact my husband holds the priesthood and is able to bless our family through it.

Eric and I where sealed in the Bountiful Temple for time and all eternity Saturday morning too. It was such a wonderful experience. We have been so blessed to have each other. I am so happy to have Eric in my life forever now. He has been teasing me all weekend that he feels like we got married all over again so we need to have another Honeymoon... lol. It was really wonderful to be in the temple and to have Eric with me. It means so much to me to be worthy and to have a companion and my best friend be there with me. The only part of the day that didn't go as planned where the pictures. The weather was wet and rainy and cold when we came out so we just took a couple of group shots and planned on taking more pictures on another day. It was still wonderful!! Our families are both so wonderful for making the lengthy trip. We wanted to thank our friends that where able to make it and those who sent their love too. It was truly a great day for our entire family. I am so lucky to be a part of the Wyatt family forever now too. I love them all so much!!

This picture was taken at the Baptism, apparently while we where in the temple Skyler decided that he had a crush on Robin's oldest daughter. Who can blame him? She is the one in the picture just behind him. Anyway, he spent the whole day with everyone teasing him about it, but he didn't seem to mind. He just sat by her every chance he got...lol. We are in for it I can tell already...

Abby turned Eight

We celebrated Abby's birthday the weekend before and then again two weeks later...lol She was totally not sick of getting presents though!!

Abby turned 8 on the 23rd of July, but I thought she needed her own post!! We are so excited that she is choosing to be baptized! That will be on Saturday Aug. 15 at 1:00 PM. That will be such a wonderful day for all of us! She is growing so fast and maturing even faster. We are still learning to deal with the "girl drama" all the time, and she is only eight... we are scared. LOL, but we wouldn't trade her and she is always making our home more fun!! Happy Late Birthday Abby!!

24th and 10-Year Reunion and Baseball endings....

I think that for me all I have gotten is fatter, but hey I am so happy with life right now and as Eric says, I know what to do if I want to change my body...

For the 24th we where in Beaver for the parade and a day of fun with the family. Skyler loves the parade and loves to gather all the candy, but his most favorite part is getting wet at the end, lol.

After the parade we went to Tasha's house to have lunch and let the kids play together. They are such good kids, but they are all getting older to fast.

We went home for a while and then came back for the Fireworks!! I love this face that Skyler is making and that was only at the little fireworks that we purchased.

And we are finally all done with Baseball this summer!! Brenden's team ended up taking third at Regional's so he was excited! He did such a good job and we are so proud of the hard work he put into improving this year...

The Wyatt Family Reunion

This year was Eric's families turn to host the Wyatt Family reunion so we had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Stake Ranch again!! We loved it!! This year we took our own tent and camped out and it was still tons of fun. It was a lot of work, but very well worth it. It was so wonderful to meet a lot of Eric's extended family and to get to know more of them better. We have tons of pictures... so here are just a few of the ones I like.

Father's Day Weekend

This weekend was full of excitement...okay not really but we had a good time.

Skyler and some of his cousins got to play at the new park in Minersville Fair Grounds on Friday evening. The play ground is really high up!! They boys loved it once they got up there, but it was a little scary for them at first.

Saturday my dad and mom and I went up to my grandma's cabin in the Beaver Mountains. It was so beautiful. The extra rain has left everything green and just wonderful. We also got to drive around and see tons and tons of deer! This waterfall section was wonderful too.

Sunday we had a family party with Grandpa Hayward and Ruth and all the kids. It was so nice to be able to spend some time with my family. I love my dad so much and I am so grateful to have such a wonderful example in my life!!

Where is summer?

Well June is floating down the road quite quickly!! I can't believe that there are only two weeks left... For us it has just been baseball, rain-out, baseball make-up and more baseball. Hopefully after this week we will be all done... with the regular league. Brenden made the All-star team, so we will be having more games until the end of July.

Can you believe this rain though? We did have so many plans for the summer and as of yet, we haven't been able to do many of them... I know I shouldn't be complaining.. It is helping the farmer. I am just ready for a nice summer day!!

Another good note, Eric and I will be sealed in the Temple on August 15th. We are soooo excited. I can't believe that the day has finally come, but I really am so excited!! If you want to come just email me and I will let you know what time and where we are having it. This is such a huge blessing for us!! Skyler is a little sad because we will not be able to seal any of the kids to us, but he knows that he just needs to live his life worthy so that he can go through the temple on his own and then everything will work out like it should. That makes me try harder to prepare him for all of crazy things that might tempt him too. It really has helped me to see the importance of doing all the little things daily!! Scripture study and pray are so important to staying focused on the Savior and the plan of happiness.

The busy Month of May...

With all the things happening in May, I am finally getting to post about them. This last week has been really busy. We have had baseball games, 4 a week (2 for Brenden and 2 for Skyler) since the last week in April. The field trips have been running us all around and yesterday was Skyler's finally program for first grade. His class has been busy, they have went to the Police station, Fire station, the bank, the post office, the grocery store and Wednesday to the Hogo Zoo. The Zoo was so much fun!! All the big cats where up and prowling around in their cages. The monkeys where moving and swinging and playing with each other. We watched to bears wrestling. The boys loved it. Mrs. Clark (a chaperoned) and myself kept our groups together, eight boys. We also had Connor in our group with his mom, he broke his leg playing soccer a few weeks ago, so we really had nine boys and three adults... it was great!! Most of the boys where really good too. Skyler waiting to get off the bus. The boys: Andrew, Spender, Chet, Skyler, Logan, Hayden, Ezra, Connor and Michael. Skyler loves baseball. He has a ton of team dad's that have been helping out and the two that are the coaches are wonderful!! He was learned so much. He loved playing catcher too. I think he have learned a ton more about that position. This is the first year with machine pitch and he is doing really well at hitting. His temper shows a ton this year... lol... I'm not sure that is a good thing, but we are working on it. He just has so much drive to win... At the program, the kids all did such a good job. Skyler had to give the poem "Over Due" by Shel Silverstien. He did an amazing job!! He also sang out all the songs and most of the time you could hear him over the other kids, lol, maybe that was just where we were sitting. I have included his poem video and my favorite song. In the song he gets to rock out in the middle and I laughed so hard, he is so crazy some days and really has not rhythm ability just like his mom. It was a great program, we are so lucky to have such a wonderful teacher!! We are totally going to miss you next years Mrs. Knavel!!!

The Eagles Concert

For Mother's Day Eric got tickets to the Eagles...I said who??? LOL Anyway, we went to the Eagles concert on Saturday night. It was so cool at the Rio Tino Soccer Complex. The weather was beautiful and the Eagles where really good!! It was funny, the one guy began with "Just to check you in the right place, this the Geriatric tour..." It was fun. We had a wonderful time!! Thanks LOVE, you are the best!!

Vegas...Vegas...Vegas...

Eric is really doing well at his work and they had another contest that he won!!! So off to Vegas we went. Friday night we had dinner at Samba's in the Mirage, which is where we stayed... It was amazing. I have never had Brazilian food before, but I am a fan now. There was tons of meat though...tons.

After that it was off to the Winn for "Le Reve". WOW is all I have to say. It was completely clean (by clean I mean not raunchy like everything else in Vegas), and wonderful. It is so amazing, people flew from the sky and did amazing dives and the strength and balance, wow... it was really cool.

Saturday morning Eric had a meeting for two hours, so I just hung out getting a little sun and then off to the Outlet Store we went. We did end up finding some good things. That night as part of his Trip, Eric got to go and drive an Indy car at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was called something, but I don't want to look it up. Eric loved it!!! He got the highest speed of his group... 156.14 miles per hour. They got to spend 8 minutes driving these cars around the mile and a half track.
This last picture is my favorite... he was so pumped as he got out... Everyone wanted to do it again.

I took this video on the starting lap. If you'll notice they just gave him the green flag to get moving. It was taking with my camera too, so that would be why it is so shaky...sorry.
Eric totally spoiled me for my birthday too... what a great man and what a wonderful way to spend my birthday!! Thanks, my love, for all your hard work and diligence!! You are my superstar!!!

Easter and School Picture

This Easter was a little mellow for us. Skyler had already been at my mom's for a week for Spring Break. He loved spending time with all the family in Beaver and Minersville. Brenden and Abby where both with their mom this weekend so... Eric and I headed down to get Skyler and just relax. I was also able to do a lot of reflection...

I am so happy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints. I love the opportunity that I have had to grow closer to my Father in Heaven and my brother Jesus this past year. I can't even imagine the amount of love they have for me.

I just had to post Skyler's new school picture too. I love it. I don't know if it was the color of his shirt or the background or what but I just love it. It is a picture of a picture so bare with me.

Yellow Belt Advancement

Last night Skyler was advanced to a Yellow belt in his karate! He thought that was so cool...it should be he was so nervous for the test last week!! He did a great job though!!

I had to throw in this picture too. This was taken last Saturday when we went to the 1 year birthday for the Sportsplex here. It was spiderman themed, so Skyler wanted his face painted like Phantom. I seriously was amazed at what the artist could do. You should have seen the butterfly that they gave to a lot of the girls...they are seriously amazing!!

Tooth Fairy Bliss

This weekend I had the opportunity to go down to Tuacahn and watch to this concert...

It was so wonderful!! I loved it so much. It was so great to feel the spirit so strong and have music that is enjoyable. They really rocked the whole mountain is seemed..lol.. we had a blast. I have listen to the cd's we downloaded to my ipod at least once a day now. If you like country music, these are seriously wonderful... "Joseph, a Nashville Tribute to the Prophet" and "Trek, an Nashville Tribute to the Pioneers". Also there that night, as part of that group, was Due West!!! They are so good, if you like country. I couldn't believe that there where there. The day before going down I heard them live on the radio and there song totally made me cry... it was so much fun to actually see them live in concert!!

I actually have pictures from the concert, but they are not great at all and I can not get them to load for some reason.

The Draper Temple

We went to Open House this weekend as a family. It was so wonderful to be in the House of the Lord once again. It just makes me even more excited for the things that are to come soon. The kids loved being there too. They didn't like the long lines that we had to wait in, but it was worth it. The temple is so special and I am so excited to be worthy to attend once again. What a wonderful spirit resides there even without it being dedicated.

After going through the temple they have the meeting house right next to it set up with all the most beautiful pictures. That is where we took this one of the savior and our family. The art work is so amazing both in the temple and in the Church!!

We went to lunch after the temple and it was so much fun. This was one of our best Family days that be have had in a while. I don't even think that I or Eric ended up wanted to strangle the kids too much, lol.

Our First Anniversary

I stole this idea from Nisha for our anniversary because I thought is was so cute. Warning is is extra mushy!!

Where did we meet?
Eric and I met on-line at singles.net. Our first face to face meeting was in Beaver at the Wendy's, lol. He came all the way from Kaysville to Beaver just to accompany me to St. George for a thank you dinner that I needed to attend. The car ride to St. George was great though, because we got to do even more talking. He drove all the way back to Kaysville that night too. Poor Eric!!

How long did we date before we married?
We dated on and off for 1 year and a 1/2. Eric likes to tease me that he knew all the time that we would be together, he just had to wait around for me to "see the light".

How long have we been married?
1 year yesterday!! And it just keeps getting better and better!!

What does he do that surprises you?
Eric has the most extensive life experience. He has done it all. I love to keep learning about the things that he has done in his life that I didn't even know about. It is so amazing! I am surprised every time tells a new story.

I love the fact that he is taller than me!! That isn't all though, I love his smile and the way his eyes laugh when he is extra happy...

To him, my nickname is "M". It started clear back when we where emailing each other all the time. I don't know why, but it just makes me feel loved still, lol, funny huh since he probably started it just so he didn't have to write my whole name out.

He is a blue man.

Shall I say any food? He really likes to eat, period. I think anything Italian would do though.

That is a toss up for the most part. He really loves both Skiing and Cycling. He had done both on a advanced level so that helped to makes them favorites. My hubby is amazing!

The first night we met, it was very sweet.

My favorite thing is just lying in bed snuggling on Saturday mornings...but we spend most of you time together and I love all of it.

Does he have a hidden talent?
Apparently he keeps this hidden, he is a wonderful pianist. I have only heard him play once and that was on the piano at our house that is way out of tune.

I believe it was me to him. He was a lot more reluctant to share his feelings at first. lol

We went to dinner on Saturday at Biaggo's and then to the Utah Symphony to celebrate. It was wonderful! I am so lucky to have a guy to love music and actually really likes to go. Thank you my love for making this one of the best years of my life, even with all the changes, and for loving me in spite of all my craziness!!

Last night Eric's work did the final auction for all the "Pimp My Kitchen" Promo. It was tons of fun!! We had good food and tons of fun and at the end of the night here are the things we ended up bringing home... a Viking Food Processor, a Cuisinart 4-Quart Slow Cooker, a All-Clad 6.5 Slow Cooker, a Cuisinart air popcorn maker, a Cuisinart ice cream maker, a whole punch of graters, and other utensils. I love Eric's JOB!!! He knows they just do all these promos so that they don't pay them what they should... so I guess it's a toss up. But I still love all the new kitchen gadgets we now have!!

Skyler's Valentines Party

Skyler is such a loving kid. Friday the 13th was his class party for Valentines Day. I had volunteered to help and so I was wearing a brown sweater with hearts all over it. He said "Mom, it would be better if you wore something red." lol It was so funny. The night before he asked if we could make a Valentines Box. Thursday night is always our busiest night, so of course I forgot. The one in the picture I made at 11:30 Thurs night, just so I didn't feel bad the next day about him feeling left out. He was the only one that had one at school!! Sheesh, all that effort...at least Skyler loved it.

Eric and I took Brenden and Abby out to lunch on Valentines Day...you can definately tell we are married now...we decided not to spent to much on Valentines Day, lol. He did give me roses anyway though. He is a sweetie!!

Mason's Baptism

Mason is such a wonderful boy. We are all so proud of him!! He looks totally nervous in all these pictures, I think he was just a little overwhelmed.

All my family got together before his baptism for a day of playing and good food. We played the Wii Fit most of the day and totally enjoyed every minute of it. The hula-hoop is the most hilarious. The kids where all playing the 64' in the bedroom too. It was so much fun. I love getting to spend time with my family!!

Dad & Skyler B-Day

Well on the 10th Eric and I made a quick trip down to my parents house because my dad was being put in the bishopric. He was totally in shock!!! lol It was great though. He didn't think that he would ever be in that position. It is amazing. Yes, I know it is just the same old thing for a lot of people but it was definitely something new in our family. I don't know of anyone in our family who has been in the bishopric ever. It is definitely a neat experience for our whole family...

Skyler's birthday was great!! He said he really enjoyed the day. He got to open some presents first thing in the morning and the rest after school. I still can't decide which was his favorite, but he really enjoyed everything. Each year,as something different, Skyler gets a new water globe for his birthday. This tradition has turned into so much fun. Skyler loves getting them and has decided that he will collect them all the time. He now has six (we didn't start until two years ago)and his latest one is so cool. All the parts inside move when it is wound up. Eric and I found it when we went to San Diego earlier this year. He also really loved the puppet, as you will see. I took the day off and went over the have lunch with Skyler, he wanted a cheese burger and milkshake. So along with baloons and party hats we rocked the school lunch room with his class. lol It was rowdy. I bet his teacher was way glad to see me take all that home. We then took Skyler out for dinner at Applebees; he chose there because he loved the song they sing on your birthday. Then we went to "Bedtime Stories". This is a really cute movie. We all enjoyed it. Skyler's cake was Legoland Star Wars for the Wii. That is definately his new favorite thing!!! We got one for Christmas from my parents and he wanted a game and another controller for his birthday...so he got it. But his cake he really loved. He wouldn't let us cut the "Luke" on the top the whole time. I finally had to throw it out yesterday.

Well my baby turns SEVEN tomorrow!!! Yikes, I can't believe that he is getting so big. Pictures from the big day tomorrow are coming, but I just wanted write all these thoughts down today, so that maybe I won't be such a cry baby tomorrow. I love Skyler so much. I love all the sweet little things that he does every day. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father sent him into my life for me to try and guide. I think he is the one that teaches me so much each day. I am getting a little concerned about how fast he is growing up though; he is already smarting off about how much more he knows than mom. He is also starting to get that little sassy attitude...sigh... it could be an interesting ride from here on out. lol We love him so much even with attitude!!! lol

Idaho Christmas

Christmas was so wonderful once again in Idaho. I love the traditions that Eric's family continues and all the wonderful family that we get to spend time with. The first few pictures are on Christmas Eve. Eric's Dad, Grant, and his dad's brother get all their families together for a pizza party. It usually ends up being close to 50 people. It is so fun!! I love chatting with all of Eric family that we rarely get to see. It makes it even more special. Then everyone gets a gift to open and the kids just love it.

After everyone leaves the party, just the family staying there opens all the rest of the presents under the tree. It is definately crazy!!

This was Skyler on Christmas morning after Santa had come!! He couldn't believe that this was his bike. His first words where "That is a cool bike, but it can't be mine, it's too big." lol He got over that really quick and LOVES riding it.

Usually on Christmas Morning, we meet with that same family as the night before for a wonderful breakfast. Well this year, we where snowed in!! It was crazy. I have never seen snow drift so bad. I honestly couldn't believe it. It wasn't that they got too much snow, but because it is so flat, it just drifts everywhere. It was crazy!! So we spent the day inside just enjoying each others company.

Christmas time Craze

This season has been filled with so many wonderful activities!! We took the kids to temple square to see the lights a few weeks ago. Eric and I went to Brenden's Fifth Grade Christmas play. They did Yankee-Doodle Christmas. 5th graders are just too cool to sing though. lol Skyler had his First Grade Program and it was so cute!! This last weekend Skyler and I went down to Mom and Dads for some much needed family time. Skyler only got to stay for a few hours though, then it was off the St. George for his Christmas with his dad. I love spending time with my family. It is such an eye opener to move away from home and not get to see every one as much as we used to. Family is so wonderful!! We really do miss being closer to Minersville!! Such is life though and things are happy in Kaysville too. Tomorrow we are off for Idaho for Christmas!! It should be so wonderful!! Merry Christmas to Everyone!!! I hope your Holidays are wonderful!!

Taylor's Baptism & The Aquarium

Saturday marked a huge day for us...the first one of my parents grand kids was baptized. We are getting too old. My parents now have a baptism every six months for the next two years.

Abby was so excited to get this doll. Apparently one of Taylor's family members on his dad's side make them to just give out. The blanket and the burp rag are both crocheted around the edges...who does that and just gives them away at random? They are really amazing!!!

The aquarium is so much better than when it was at the Gateway...there is so much more room!!! It still had mostly the same things, just a little more and way more space. Brenden would not stop pulling faces at the camera, so every picture that we have of him is silly...boys (sigh).

These are my favorites there. It is just so amazing what creatures there really are in this world!!

Wrestling-Airforce Base-Thanksgiving

All rolled into one post...yes, I have been slacking.

Wrestling this year was short and sweet. Skyler attended the wrestling camp and tournament for Davis High School. He loved it, but informed me that next year he wants to play basketball (secretly I am soooooo HAPPY, I hate wrestling). He took third at the tournament.

We took the kids to Hill Air Force Base one weekend. They have a really cool new section where the kids can actually play!! They loved it. Brenden was actually flying one of the plane simulators and Skyler loved the dress-ups they had. Abby like the building blocks and I don't know why I didn't get a picture of her...oops.

For Thanksgiving, we went to Minersville with Skyler. It was a lot of fun. Eric and I are really loving this vacation thing...it seems we have been doing as much of that as working lately. It is WONDERFUL!!

Second Summer in San Diego!!

Eric won a trip from work for the two of us to go to San Diego all expenses paid!! It was wonderful. We flew out of Salt Lake on Wednesday last week in a snow storm. The only bad part about that was that while de-icing the plane they broke the transmitter and we sat on the plan for two hours before unloading and waiting in the air port for two more hours before boarding a new plane... but all ended well. We arrived in San Diego about 5 on Wednesday night. Here is the view from our room. We stayed at the Paradice Point Resort in our own bungalow. It was amazing, we where right on the shore!!

HP also paid for us to go sailing!! So Thursday at 12:00 we boarded the sail boat. We got to the port a little early, so we walk around the Peir. This pelican was just hanging out watching a lady intently clean out a fish. I am just amazed at animals I have never seen before.

This is almost exactly like our boat. Our group of fifteen was split into two different sail boats. It was so amazing!! We went far enough out into the ocean that we where in Mexico!! lol So now I can say that I have been in Mexico too. This was such a wonderful expereince for my first time even seeing the ocean!!

While we where sailing back into the port, this Air Craft Carrier came cruising right into the port. It was totally amazing how fast in came in... it could have run circles around us!! And it is massive!!!

Friday Eric needed to visit some partners for work, so we drove out though other parts of San Diego. It was a lot of fun to see the different areas. Then we went to the Temple!!! It was so beautiful!! I seriously love it!! We even missed all the protesters apparently. They where there the next day. We spend the rest of the day shopping at Sea Port Village. There are so many interesting things that I haven't seen before!!

The flowers at our resort and at the temple are just amazing. Eric's favorite are the "bird of paradice" in the first picture here. I didn't get a very good picture, but they really are cool.

I had to take a picture of this dinner. Eric was required to attend some meetings and two of the meetings I was invited. This picture below was our dinner night. I have never seen shrimp so huge!! They where seriously a meal all alone!!

Saturday before out massages at the spa, we went to Cabrillo!! It was so cool! I loved this sign!! Look at the detail in that boat.

I love this picture!! We where allowed to go all the way into the top of the light house, but here is the picture that I took through the bars!! It is so cool!! I loved all the things are the light house and the military info that we got.

Then we headed down to the tide pools. This was one of my favorite parts of the trip!! I loved being so close the the water and watching it just crush into the rocks!!

I got the see a real crab!! If you look hard you can see it. lol And also a surfer!! Both first for me again.

I also loved this Navy Cemetary on the hill. There isn't a better place to be buried if you love the ocean.

We finished the spa that night and flew back to reality on Sunday. It was the most wonderful trip and I think that Eric and I both got so much out of just being together!! I can't wait to do it again!!

Happy Halloween!!

Well we spent the weekend celebrating Halloween a little early. All three of the kids will be at their other parents homes for Halloween, so we made this one our Halloween. Friday night Skyler took his friend Tyler with him to the Treehouse Museum and the Dinosaur Museum in Ogden. Both Museums where having Halloween festivities.

My favorite was the Treehouse!! They read "The Paper Bag Princess" and then went on a dragon hunt. Along the way, they met many different story book characters who told them a little more about themselves and the stories that they where in. And since I love books, this was wonderful. Skyler even agreed. By the way, Skyler is the "Gate Keeper". He loves the costume and I hate it, lol. He worked a deal last year with Mason, Tasha's oldest, who gave Skyler the costume after Halloween last year...we just let the deal stand since they worked it out so nicely between each other.

Saturday, after taking family pictures which will be posted later, we carved pumpkins and then decorated sugar cookies and took them around to friends. It was a very busy and enjoyable time!! Thank goodness that I have such a wonderful and supportive husband who is willing to not only put up with all my crazy ideas, but participate in them as well!!

Don't ask me why we forgot to get pictures of all of the completed pumpkins, lol oops. I'll have to do that later.

Kaysville Dragon's Jog-a-thon

I am a little slow in posting this, but still thought it was a fun event. At Skyler's school there one fundraising event for the year is a Jog-a-thon. It work much like the March of Dimes as far as the donations go. Friday Oct 3 the event happened. It reminded me of a minnie marathon... with me manning the water station, lol. The kids ran around the track at the school and just had a blast.

Each class made there own banner. They all ran out on the field threw a tunnel of parent and volunteers with there banner leading the way. It was tons of fun for the kids. By the way, they broke the grades up so K-3rd ran together and 4th-6th ran together. I should have taken a picture of just how many kids are in K-3rd. It was HUGE!! I don't even think Minersville has that many kids in the whole school!!

And now they SWARM the teacher. lol They also did a drawing for all the kids that brought back an envelope. I really liked that everyone was entered and they didn't base the prizes on how much you collected. Skyler didn't win a prize, but I still think if was a much more fair way to work prizes for a whole school.
